How is it calculated?

Sheets = net area × layers × (1 + waste) / sheet area, rounded up. For partitions, account for both faces when applicable.

Example

Example: 30 m², 1.2 × 2.5 m sheets and 10% waste requires about 11 sheets.

WHAT CHANGES THE RESULT

Check these before using the estimate

Renovation estimates are most sensitive to measurements, product coverage and waste allowance. Before ordering, verify the result against the actual m²/L, m²/pack or unit coverage printed on the product.

  • Using net dimensions rather than mixing gross and net area
  • Waste from cuts, breakage and pattern alignment
  • Actual coverage stated on the product pack or datasheet
  • Surface condition, installation method and site tolerances
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do both sides of a partition count?+

Yes, if both faces are boarded, include both surface areas.

Should doors and windows be subtracted?+

Large openings can be subtracted; small cuts may be offset by waste allowance.
